5. Developers Don't Believe In Survival Horror
Previously the Senior Vice President Of Marketing for Capcom, Michael Pattison stated in an interview with MVC several years ago that the development house don't covet horror quite as much as they once did. Putting this down to the ever-changing market for videogames, Pattison admitted that lessons were learned following Resi 6. With these comments, and the direction the series has taken since Resident Evil 4, it becomes less and less likely that Capcom will return to the glory days of the franchise. Emphasis appears to be on those action set pieces, as well as creating massive experiences which appeal to more casual audiences, rather than the tense, tougher games of old.
