But this is what it comes down to. As a series, Silent Hill is simply scarier than Resident Evil. From the psychological horror of the storylines to the use of audio to orchestrate terrifying moments, it perfectly blends so many elements to create some disturbing, disgusting, and downright scary games. Resident Evil has been responsible for some of the most memorably terrifying moments in gaming history (Everyone knows about
that moments with the dogs). But where the Resident Evils delivered so well on the horror movie style scares and atmosphere, the Silent Hills produced a horror style that was both outright scary and disturbing, something that few games are capable of. To put it simply, Resident Evil messed with your nerves, Silent Hill messed with your
mind. And there aren't many things more scary than that.
