10 Reasons Silent Hill Is Better Than Resident Evil

7. The Locations

While you could argue that Resident Evil has employed more variety in its locations over the years, setting the action everywhere from trains to volcanos to castles, Silent Hill's have undoubtably been scarier. Fittingly for the horror genre, it has you creeping through abandoned schools, hospitals, fairgrounds, keeping you on edge all the way. And that's not to mention the alternate dimension of the Otherworld, a twisted industrial nightmare where many of the series' most terrifying moments are to be had. I think, given the choice, most people would rather chance their luck in Racoon City's zombie-infested streets than wander one of Silent Hill's dreadful locations alone.
