10 Reasons Silent Hill Is Better Than Resident Evil

6. The Combat

Resi has always had a focus on weaponry. Even in the earlier titles, where ammo was often scarce, guns were readily available. Silent Hill plays things differently. Unlike with Resi, you rarely feel that you're at an advantage in combat. There are few guns, making blunt weapons your fall back option. And there's something inherently terrifying about going toe to toe with some twisted mass of shapeless horror as it jerks its way towards you. Resi's combat might be easier, more action packed, especially in recent years. But Silent Hill's reliance on melee weapons adds a feeling of helplessness and panic to fights, making them that much more scary.
