10 Reasons Sony Won E3 2014
10. Confidence
If there's one thing that oozed from every pore of the Sony conference, it's confidence. On came Sony, sauntering in as if they were about to announce Half-Life 3 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive imagine that if you dare. Fair enough, PlayStation 4 launched incredibly well and last year's E3 could hardly have gone better for them, but these guys were cracking jokes and taking quick jabs at the competition; they even had the nerve to read out some fan mail. It could hardly have gone better for them.
Sony made a clear statement with the way that they delivered their press conference this year; regardless of what was happening around them, they would remain Sony. Their exclusives were unique, their services were promising and their apparent commitment to fighting tooth and nail for any scrap of exclusivity going was commendable.
When the conference began to sag which was somewhere in the midst of all the talk about how many times various buttons had been pressed they confidently wheeled out some in-engine gameplay footage of Mortal Kombat X to shut everyone up. Had Microsoft delivered an equally transparent conference they might have faired significantly better.
