10 Reasons Sony Won E3 2014
9. LittleBigPlanet 3
Considering that almost nothing had been said about any subsequent LittleBigPlanet titles preceding Sony's conference, their shock unveiling of LittleBigPlanet 3 was quite the treat for fans of the franchise especially when you consider that it's set for a November release. Seeing as LittleBigPlanet is synonymous with happiness, members of the audience welcomed this announcement with considerable glee.
While the new developers Sumo Digital might have royally hammed up their gameplay demonstration, they didn't fail to show that the franchise was still brimming with life. Three new characters (each with a unique set of abilities) joined Sackboy in this demo: Oddsock, Toggle and Swoop. The short level that was shown had an impressive level of depth, not to mention an increased emphasis on cooperative play; the subsequent trailer alluded to an even more diverse experience than the one offered by the previous two instalments of this charming franchise.
Perhaps best of all however, was the announcement that the 8.7 million user-created levels from the first two LittleBigPlanet games would be playable on PlayStation 4, with improved graphics to boot.
