10 Reasons Sony Won E3 2014

5. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Following on from the initial trailer that landed late last year, Sony closed their E3 conference this year with a teaser trailer for what is arguably their biggest current franchise; Uncharted. The trailer was brief, and it revealed almost nothing about the gameplay or narrative of the upcoming game, but it delivered enough to leave us all wanting more.

Of the trailer's few revelations, a couple are certainly worth getting excited about: yes it's coming out in 2015 and yes Drake is still in the fold. Other than that, all we really got was a glimpse at how good Uncharted 4's cutscenes might look (really chuffing good) and a vague suggestion that the game will be adopting a more sombre tone.

The real treat is that this trailer puts some of the concerns surrounding Uncharted 4's development to bed. With the departure of writer Amy Hennig and game director Justin Richmond earlier this year, fans were sceptical about the future of the franchise. However, the nonchalance with which Sony delivered this trailer and the recent announcement that Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley have adopted the project is a tremendous relief both for gamers and, of course, for Sony.
