10 Reasons Sony Won E3 2014
3. Let It Die
The announcement of Suda 51's newest project - Let it Die - at Sony's E3 conference provided gamers with something to get quietly excited about. The trailer featured a number of gritty, hyper-violent combat sequences in which cobbled-together weapons were used to hack, slash and mangle various aggressors. As each new weapon or item appeared on screen, so too would a corresponding stat, which suggests that whatever this game is, it might feature some RPG elements too.
For obvious reasons, it's not easy to get excited about a game that we know almost nothing about. But there have been few failures in Suda 51's history. The trailer's content hints at a bizarre amalgamation of genres and the final product could be anything from a fighting game to a survival horror.
The intriguing prospect laid out by Let it Die's trailer was precisely what Sony needed in the ranks of its announced exclusives something daring and mysterious that would at the very least keep gamers guessing up until its release.
