10 Reasons Sony Won E3 2014

3. Let It Die

The announcement of Suda 51's newest project - Let it Die - at Sony's E3 conference provided gamers with something to get quietly excited about. The trailer featured a number of gritty, hyper-violent combat sequences in which cobbled-together weapons were used to hack, slash and mangle various aggressors. As each new weapon or item appeared on screen, so too would a corresponding stat, which suggests that whatever this game is, it might feature some RPG elements too.

For obvious reasons, it's not easy to get excited about a game that we know almost nothing about. But there have been few failures in Suda 51's history. The trailer's content hints at a bizarre amalgamation of genres and the final product could be anything from a fighting game to a survival horror.

The intriguing prospect laid out by Let it Die's trailer was precisely what Sony needed in the ranks of its announced exclusives €“ something daring and mysterious that would at the very least keep gamers guessing up until its release.
