Another of the larger complaints players that players levelled at Star Wars Battlefront was that the lack of a meaningful single player campaign damaged the overall appeal. Even John Boyega of Star Wars: The Force Awakens took to Twitter to complain about the lack of the campaign a little earlier this year.

However, while many may share Boyega's view, the single player content really isn't needed in Star Wars Battlefront because the multiplayer angles are so strong. Sure a single player story might have been fun for a while, but can any of you honestly say that you played through the stories of the old Battlefront games more than a handful of times?

The single player missions on offer in this latest iteration provide more than enough practice time for the game's true attraction; its multiplayer battles. Firing through scores of AI enemies may be fun when you first get started, but before long that kind of approach becomes painfully boring. The challenge that's afforded to us by having the battlefield filled with real, intelligent foes is what makes Battlefront such an attraction.

A single player campaign could never recapture this, no matter how exciting its story may have ended up being.
