10 Reasons The PlayStation Vita Was An Overlooked Gem

7. PlayStation Minis

One of the features that the Vita had that is often not spoken about was its library of PlayStation Minis. For those who aren't aware, these were a series of small indie games that were featured on the PlayStation Store for both the Vita and PlayStation 3 that supported smaller developers and also cost a fraction of the price. As of the time of writing this, there were 290 PlayStation Minis released over the lifespan of the project.

Even though the Minis were smaller in scale, it didn't mean that they were any less enjoyable than a lot of the other indie games released on the system. Some of the games that were featured on the Minis service were games like Rovio Entertainment's Angry Birds and also Beatshapers Limited's Jetpack Joyride, releases that were smash hits on mobile before being brought to the Vita.

Giving gamers a cheaper alternative while also supporting smaller indie developers by giving them exposure on such a big platform is a win-win situation for everybody involved.
