10 Reasons The PS4.5 Is Sony's Biggest Mistake This Generation

2. But If There Isn't A Major Jump Then What's The Point?

However, lets say that Sony does manage to stay true to its word and keep the two console functioning side by side with no real disparity between them that negatively impacts users who already own a PS4, then it begs the question: what's even the point in the first place?

If anything, this whole situation could swing to the complete opposite direction and end up with Sony having another piece of hardware that quickly falls off the map. While that would be great for people who already own a PS4, it's not a smart move by Sony, who'll end up once again with a new console that not only doesn't sell, but negatively impacts and cannibalises their own products.

Rumours have it that developers aren't happy with the addition of a new console into the ecosystem, and so if they're not willing to jump head-first into making beefed-up games for the system, and if Sony doesn't have any way to make sure they fulfil the potential of the 4.5's power, then we might be looking at yet another powerful piece of hardware from the company that is embraced by neither gamers nor developers alike.
