PS4s are hotter than ever. Selling faster than any other console in Sony's history, the PS4 is enjoying an unprecedented amount of momentum - a momentum that's going to come to a crashing halt if the company doesn't address the rumours of a new console soon.

Right now, in between these online leaks and the potential of an imminent official announcement, there's no reason for anyone to pick up Sony's current console. If you decide to take the plunge now, the best case scenario is you pick up a machine that's going to seem like a weak investment by the end of the year, while the worst case scenario will result in someone's system being instantly made redundant by a comparatively priced but much more advanced console.

Think about it: Who in their right mind is going to buy a PS4 if a bigger and better version is mere months away?

If the price of the two consoles aren't too far apart, no one is going to opt for the inferior version out of choice, meaning that sales for the regular PS4 are never going to reach their full potential.
