While the addition of a small upgraded piece of hardware might not seem like the biggest problem for developers who are used to making games work games across a myriad of different machines, the introduction of a PS4.5 is going to directly impact games scheduled to release at the end of this year and into 2017.

Because all games releasing after October this year are required to be PS4.5 compatible, developers are going to be scrambling to make sure their titles can hit their deadlines with this new requirement in mind.

As a result, there's a good chance you're going to see games already rumoured to be missing deadlines like Horizon: Zero Dawn to crumble under this added pressure and move away from their original release date.
