10 Reasons Titanfall Is A Call Of Duty Killer

7. Gore

If there's one thing the Call Of Duty franchise has disappointed me with in recent years, it's the gore (or rather, the lack of it) in their games. According to the developers, the problem with allowing gibbing (aka turning your opponents into red, meaty chunks) is that it takes up a significant amount of system RAM which needs to be devoted to other processes. This is the problem with using a supremely outdated engine, one which hopefully will be scrapped for the next, fully next-gen COD. Titanfall is not a super gory game by any means, but there is blood to be found, particularly when Titans face off against humans. There's something immensely satisfying about shooting a pilot with a rail gun and watching him explode into a pile of crimson meat, and similarly, you may occasionally find that if you're able to rip a pilot out of his doomed Titan, throwing him into the nearby environment will turn him into a bloody mess. These moments don't dominate the game, but they make killing and dying a whole lot more satisfying to watch. If it's rated "M" for Mature, they may as well make the most of it...
