Another problem with COD is that there's not a lot of ways to innovate play which focuses itself on foot-soldiers: sure, you can throw fancy gadgets into the sky and that will offer some temporary relief, but the franchise's resistance to adding vehicles doesn't give them much room to innovate. Titanfall, however, prides itself on multiple planes of movement by way of the superbly-implemented parkour (aka free running) mechanics, which allow you to run along pretty much any wall in the game, and then leap off like a trapeze artist. It serves two functions primarily: it's great for dodging enemy fire, especially from the Titans, and to be honest, it just makes you look so freaking cool. Respawn have programmed the physical mechanics so perfectly that it never feels like a chore, but rather like second nature. Going back to mere running in COD is going to be tough...
