10 Reasons Why The PS4 DOMINATED This Console Generation
8. More Powerful Hardware At Launch And A Better Looking Design
Despite the Xbox One X eventually surpassing the PlayStation 4 as the most powerful console on the market, Microsoft failed to have such a version of the console available when it mattered most.
Sure, the average person interested in buying either console may not have been too familiar with the specific features that set the two apart, such as native resolutions or frames per second, but if you are able to convince those on the fence that games run better on your console, then that can lead to more sales in your favour.
This is exactly what happened when people started buying the PlayStation 4 over the Xbox One because the vast majority of multi-platform games performed and looked better on the PS4. This was further illustrated when gaming events rolled up, as Sony would use these occasions to show off how much better games looked with impressive gameplay trailers.
This trend was also present in the previous generation, when games performed better on the Xbox 360 than on the PlayStation 3.
And it may be a small contribution to its success, but the PlayStation 4 had a more stylish look to it than the boring Xbox One.
