The Playstation as a console has been around a lot longer than the Xbox, and despite the failures of the PlayStation 3, many still believed Sony would be able to bounce back with their next console. That faith in the brand is seen in sales all across the world, as the PlayStation 4 sold well in North American, Japanese and European markets.
