10 Reasons Why The PS4 DOMINATED This Console Generation
5. Better Value For Money
The price tag on any item can be the first and sometimes only factor people need when they are making a decision on whether or not to purchase something. This would be another reason as to why the PlayStation 4 was able to get such a great lead over the Xbox One.
The initial price of the Xbox One was $499. So gamers were expected to hand over half a thousand dollars for something they were not entirely sure was a gaming console or an all-entertainment device. It also came with the Kinect, which was what helped contribute to the price tag being so high.
In comparison, the PS4 launched at $399 and the most expensive version of the Wii U launched at $349. Eventually Microsoft would release a Kinect free version of the Xbox One at a cheaper price, but the damage was already done.
By the time the price of the Xbox One came down, Sony were already offering various bundles of the PS4 with a number of games. It was not long after when they started rolling out the PS4 Pro and their superior selection of exclusive games started to shine.
