2. Dawnguard
'Dawnguard' was the first full piece of downloadable content to accompany Skyrim and it offered a bunch of new quests, items, locations and another reason to keep playing. Though reviews and feedback suggest that Dawnguard had numerous flaws, no one has tried to suggest that it isn't worth investing in. Dawnguard brings new perils to Skyrim, and with that come new challenges and opportunities to either rise up as Skyrim's saviour once again, or the chance to add to your every-growing list of powers and reasons to be feared. In Dawnguard players are given the option to join the fight against the powerful vampire lord, or join him and embrace the evil power. This simple choice means players will inevitably want to explore each possibility to see which is better or more enjoyable for their experience. The new items and locations also offer players new things to find and enjoy during their exploration. Crossbows increase the missile weapon options available and locations like the Dawnguard's castle base are just stunning to wander around in your downtime. Dawnguard wasn't perfect, but it was certainly and enjoyable addition and another reason to delve back into Skyrim.
