10 Reasons Xbox Series X Has ALREADY Won The Next Generation War Over PS5
6. Console Design
With the PS5 looking like a Gundam's shinguard, the albeit simple cuboid designs of the Series S and X gain the upper hand, if only by conforming to the maxim that 'less is more.'
Both Xboxes also have the surprising advantage of easily being able to be kept in either a vertical or horizontal stance; a surprise only because it seems the PS5 can't do this without a special stand that resembles a hockey puck.
The sheer size of the PS5 (it's a big geezer to say the least) is due primarily to the various mechanisms in place to reduce the noise the machine makes, addressing the issue evident to any PS4 owner that the machine sounds simultaneously like it has the black lung and that its about to launch itself into the sun. Neither Xbox has gone to such extremes of size for that issue, nor it seems did they need to.
A more controversial design point must be that the Xbox controller is simply a better design than the Playstation one. You know your design isn't top tier when Japanese reviewers mention that the new light bar isn't distracting, as if that's the best nice thing they could say about it.
