10 Reasons You Should Be Playing The Elder Scrolls Online

8. Genuinely Likeable Characters

One of the things I found somewhat lacking in Skyrim was characters that had genuine and discernible character. You pretty much had a mix of stoic burly warriors, racists and scummy people. Yes, there were people that we all attached ourselves. I know everyone frantically reloaded the first-time Lydia died.

There were even characters that had traits that made them stand out. Nazeem made people want to stab him, Balgruuf was a bit arrogant and Heimskr just wouldn’t shut up. And Skyrim had its brilliant characters, don't get me wrong, just not as many as ESO.

Abnur Tharn and his snide witty remarks were genuinely funny, The Prophet and his backstory were engaging and had a degree of heart, and Cadwell was just a joy of a companion - and that’s just from the main storyline. There are a whole host of characters with depth and charisma that can make you love them just with a few words.

Some characters lives hang in the balance of your decisions make choice near impossible for fear of losing the one you've grown attached too. Losing friends and likeable NPC’s happens all the time, yet certain characters’ deaths can make you feel empty. While there are a lot of forgettable ones, there are more than enough truly memorable people - like Razum-dar.

Razum-dar is a hoot and a half.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
