10. The DLC Really Doesn't Matter

People saw that the cumulative amount of DLC available on day one added up to $136, and have been creating forum threads or leading hate campaigns with it ever since. The fact is; 1. That figure separates out all the individual DLC options, rather than accounting for bundle deals - so the figure is actually closer to $60, still a lot, but more than half of what the common perception is, and 2. Nothing on offer matters whatsoever to the core game, it's ALL just skins. Want to make the monster purple or give it a cool pattern? No? Well don't then, nothing changes in regards abilities or anything else, same with the weapon skins that allow you to personalise your character in the slightest amount. Nobody cried when Gears of War 3 did this on day one, and nobody should now. Sure you can say it'd be cool to have these palette swaps in-game already, but as a totally optional method of recouping some development budget on a game that's taken years of assets and thousands of dollars to produce, it's hardly criminal.
