10 Reasons Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is STILL The Best Game Of The Generation
3. Riding Animals
Anyone who’s played Breath of the Wild for even a few hours will likely know that you can find wild horses and ride them – you can even register them at a stable to be called upon from multiple places on the map. However, it’s useful to know that the horses come in two varieties: the spotted horses and the solid colour horses. Spotted horses are easier to tame and will obey your commands more readily, while the full colour ones will put up more of a fight but will more than make up for it in speed and manoeuvrability.
Soothing a horse will take up your stamina, so acquiring a stamina potion or two is a good way of obtaining a good horse early game – this adds a fun new element to the game and an important one, as traversing the enormous map is much easier on horseback. However, it doesn’t end there.
You can mount pretty much every quadrupedal animal, including deer, bears and even the Lord of the Mountain. You might not be able to register these creatures and they might eat up much more stamina, but riding them can still be a fun experience, especially for people who want to take the roleplay experience to another level.
