There were two different Ric Flair models in WWE 2K20 - one was based on his 1988 look in the NWA/WCW, and the other was his WWF/WWE attire from 1991. Legends, and the ability to play dream matches with them, have become such a huge part of 2K's product over the years.
That's why the 'Nature Boy' will stay in.
Of course, Ric has been rather outspoken about several aspects of WWE business since leaving last August. He's also been critical of Becky Lynch using 'The Man' (amongst other things), and that might've annoyed the promotion. Will they take him out of the game though? Probably not.
Flair remains one of the most enduring legends in the series, and it's not like 2K pretend that 2021 Ric is pulling on the tights. These are tributes to his classic runs in WCW and WWE, which fans can access via the WWE Network/Peacock. It'd be silly to remove him.
