Back in the day this was a great game on the 3DS and a bit of a technical marvel too. It was also a return to the series's horror roots, seeing as it was competing with the action-heavy entries of the time.

It was a good game on the home consoles too, available on just about everything. But it definitely suffered a massive restriction in scope, and now needs a chance to expand and flourish. It needs to be the big game experience it wants and deserves to be.

Set, mostly, on a large creepy boat, and playing similarly to a Metroidvania style game, players got to be Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield for the first time in ages. There also was Raid mode, which is a lot of fun. Enemies, level layout, and objectives change from round to round, and involved levelling up and obtaining new and improved weapons, like an RPG. You can see why, for a handheld game, it was immense.

However, the quality of the levels set outside of the boat was incredibly hit and miss and the enemy design could be pretty dull and repetitive.

Its sequel's no slouch either, and would definitely benefit from a big update.
