10 Resident Evil Games That Desperately Need A Remake
7. Resident Evil 5
Here it is, one of the best selling games in the series and one of the more infamous entries, definitely when the franchise jumped the shark (punched the boulder). There's a big divide with this game, it's not bad by any means, just a huge departure from the traditional survival horror.
It was a bit of a looker back in the day, one of the best, and it still holds up, but so many of its features and mechanics were already dated right out the gate.
You couldn't move and shoot at the same time, controls were tanky, the story was pretty bad (although it is a Resident Evil game, maybe they lose funding if they do good writing) and the constant companion AI was awful.
The accusations of racism don't help either. Whether or not it's true, it always felt in bad taste to be a white American, in military garb, gunning down poor African residents, even if they are zombies.
That's all a shame as the setting is definitely one of the most eye catching to date. So an alternate version that retained the aesthetic and placed a greater emphasis on horror with refined partner AI could help redeem this chapter.
