Back in the days when no one was really sure if this online gaming thing was going to catch on, the citizens of Raccoon City decided to give it a whirl.

Both Outbreak and its follow up File#2 saw a bunch of ordinary folk, each with a particular set of skills, try to survive the onslaught. You can team up with other players online, yet as this game was on the PS2, it didn't function as well it could. So, given all the advancements seen today, that makes it worth another look. Especially given the popularity of games like Left 4 Dead.

There's also a greater emphasis on survival as well as strategy. A virus gauge sits in the corner of the screen counting up; once it reaches 100% it's game over in single player or your character becomes a zombie online. Time and enemy attacks increase the gauge, herbs and pills help stave it off. It's an interesting feature that could definitely stand to be improved upon, maybe even added to existing games, for an extra difficulty mode.

It's got a zombie elephant too.

All of these features would benefit hugely from the modern hardware, obviously.
