10 Resident Evil Games That Desperately Need A Remake
3. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries
Now a decade old, this 3DS entry attempted to cash in on the Mercenaries mode, made popular in the fourth instalment.
It's a solid idea too, as, at the time, the mode was nearly as popular as the full game itself; but for some reason it's been left out from subsequent games.
Once released it was obviously lacking in nearly every department, serving more like a tech demo of what the 3DS was capable of. There are too few levels and game modes, plus no ability to restart the game from scratch (to dissuade second hand sales). This was totally unnecessary then, so there's no reason, in this day and age, why an arcade focused game can't be fleshed out for modern consoles.
We need more levels from every title, iconic weapons, outfits and characters serving as unlockables. Each needs their own unique abilities/pros and cons (give all the one timers another chance), and include more modes, as this is a chance to implement more whacky ideas that were tricky to fit into a conventional game.
