The Gears of War trilogy is far and away one of the seventh generation's highlights. From a gameplay perspective it has some of the tightest and most responsive 3rd Person Shooter mechanics around and truly did usher in a new standard for how these games should play. Did every character really need to look like Scott Steiner and scream every bit of dialogue like they smoke eight packs of cigarettes a day though? It makes for some unintentionally hilarious art design that subsequently makes for one tough story to take seriously. No one can look at these characters without jumping to the conclusion that theyre on steroids. Maybe its some secret requirement to joining their army and its never disclosed throughout the franchise. Regardless, overly macho tough guy protagonist Marcus Fenix is the worst offender here and should really look into quitting. I imagine hes going to want kids after saving the world and all, but that might be tough to accomplish when you think about how shriveled his genitals must be from years of steroid abuse.
