10 Retro Christmas Video Games To Fill Your Stocking

8. Elf: The Movie

The movie Elf starring Will Ferrell is one of the few contemporary Christmas movies that has already become a festive classic. It even has an episode on Netflix's 'The Holiday Movies That Made Us'. Few will deny that it's essential viewing at this time of year. However, that movie also spawned a game for the Game Boy Advance, which is the perfect sized cartridge to pop in a stocking.

Admittedly, and very sadly, for anybody over the age of ten, the game is nowhere near as good as the movie on which it is based. In essence, adults will recognise this output as nothing more than a movie tie-in cash grab, targeted at parents who throw money over the counter in an effort to appease the demands of their kids.

That being said, if you know someone under the age of ten who likes the movie Elf, then you can do a lot worse than this video game. With simple platform levels, and puzzles that require zero IQ, it's perfect retro fun.
