The beauty of The Nightmare Before Christmas is that it makes ideal viewing at both Halloween and Christmas. These seasons act as the perfect excuse to dip back into the world of Halloween Town, and what better way to do that than with this video game sequel to the movie?

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge is a hack and slash adventure developed by the powerhouse Capcom, that was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Think Devil May Cry, Tim Burton style. The story follows Jack Skellington, who after becoming bored of Halloween once again (who can ever get bored of Halloween?), goes out on a search for new frights. Meanwhile Lock, Shock, and Barrel, are equally bored and decide to resurrect Oogie Boogie, who now has grand intentions of becoming a 'seven holidays king' and killing Santa.

Compared to other games on this list, Oogie's Revenge is nice change in pace gameplay wise with its action adventure style. That you can transform into Christmas Jack and the Pumpkin King is just the star on the top of the tree. However, if you like your retro games in 2D with colourful sprites, then check out The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King on Game Boy Advance.
