Let's get it straight, the character of the Silver Surfer is as cool as they get, and one that is screaming out for their own quality movie. That being said, someone was smart enough to use the character for a solo outing in the gaming world. Hooray! Thing is, you had to be in America to play it.

In 1990, Silver Surfer was released exclusively in the United States to the NES to reasonably good reviews that praised the score and gameplay. Apparently it was also incredibly difficult, so difficult it earned the unofficial moniker of Nintendo Hard. If only us Brits had the chance to play it and find out for ourselves.

Watching the game, it would be hard not to note it bares a close resemblance to the SEGA Mega Drive game Gynoug, though that did come one year after this. With villains such as Mephisto, Fire Lord, and Kylor, there's enough obscure character references to appease the ardent comic fans who picked up the game. As for us gaming fans, it's a white knuckled intense side scrolling shooter that will drive us to tears.
