10 Ridiculous Adult Jokes Hidden In Video Games

The internet is flooded with, ahem, "mature artwork" and fan-fiction for The Legend of Zelda's Link. Still, we're never going to see anything like that in one of the official games... right?

Surprisingly though, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild delivers in that department, with this dirty little joke that seems entirely out of place for a game that's so charming and family-friendly. It is funny though, to be fair.

If you head to the Curious Quiver arrow shop in Kakariko Village, you can read a journal entry by Rola - the "Lonely Arrow Girl" - and it seems that she has quite a big fetish for Link. "That new guy in town looks like he really knows how to tune a bow" she writes. "I hope he comes by and nocks an arrow for me. It's been WAAAY too long."

And that's just the stuff that's hidden. When you actually talk to Rola before she gives you a quest, she says things like "why not take out that bow and show me something special?" and "the thought of a young hunk drawing a bow just makes my day!"

Can you smell that folks? That's desperation.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
