This was a more interesting rumour which began when Minecraft was just about hitting its peak in popularity and as of this, more features were being added to the game and this rumour was one apparent addition. The rumours itself does surround the creator of Minecraft, Markus Persson, who it better known by his alias "Notch". The rumour, was that there was this mystery figure that was apparently implemented into somebodies game and this said creation went around the persons world creating various constructions and also doing other things on the side such as tearing building apart. The myth picked up more attention when people started to post 'fake' screenshots of the Herobrine appearing in their game, all of which had been photoshopped. However, this rumour being viral as ever, led to the point of "Notch", the creator of Minecraft having to strenuously deny that there was any truth to these rumours. Even after being publicly denied by Notch, some still believed it to be true, but despite scouring the coding for any signs of this mysterious presence, they failed to find anything and this said falsehood eventually found its way to the back of the pile and simply became forgotten.
