10 Ridiculous Video Games Based On Horror Movies

Really, the whole transplanting of Jason Voorhees from supernatural strong arm into video game baddie was a natural step, so wondering quite how this is a ridiculous choice is a fair bit of musing to do. But think about it - playing as a knife wielding maniac as you hunt down your actual, real-life friends in Voorhees's home territory is still a weird, if not incredibly badass set up to find yourself in.

And of course, that goes even more so in Dead by Daylight, another asymmetrical horror game that lets you take on your very favourite villains and hack people to bits with them. Ridiculous? Yes! Still incredibly fun and conceptually great, though.

The world of online gaming has opened up the floodgates for players to step into the shoes of their very favourite film franchise horrors and enact all their heinous crimes upon both strangers and the people they love and care about. What a world we live in.

But hey, if those aren't quite crazy enough for you, take a step in the victim's shoes in Jason's Commodore 64 title instead. We all love a slice of 8-bit peril.
