10 Rumoured Video Games That Could Still Be Announced In 2016
7. Assassin's Creed 2017
Ubisoft surprised pretty much everyone last year when they announced that Assassin's Creed would be skipping 2016 altogether. Of course, we still have the promising film adaptation to occupy us in the meantime (here's to hoping it'll buck the trend of every single silver screen adaptation before it), but it must be said that a lack of an annualised AC is... surreal, to say the very least.
Not to say that it wasn't the right decision by Ubisoft (let's be honest, pretty much everyone, their aunt and their uncle were sick to death of the series after Unity's monstrously botched release), rather, its absence has been felt right across the gaming spectrum.
So, what could possibly be next for Assassin's Creed? Well, if the rumour mill is anything to go by, it looks as though Ubi are targeting next year to resurrect the series, albeit in a manner far too many of us will be unfamiliar with.
We know at least two things: that A; it's a reboot, and B; it's going to have an Egyptian setting. Bar that anything is fair game, and though it's clear Ubisoft are going to be promoting Watch Dogs 2 as much as humanly possible in the run up to its release, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a couple more AC-sized tidbits were pushed our way before Christmas.
