7. The Joker Dies - Batman: Arkham City

After taking down Clayface, Batman has one final standoff with The Joker. Bats cure himself of The Joker's poisoned blood, and at this point, The Joker attacks him, causing the remainder of the vial to smash on the floor, much to the Clown Prince's disdain. As Jokes desperately scrambles around trying to preserve the liquid, Bats tells him, "Do you want to know something funny? Even after everything you've done, I would've saved you." Joker then laughs at this revelation as he dies from his illness. The next scene has become iconic right from the moment gamers first feasted their eyes on it: Batman carrying the deceased Joker outside, while the Joker's cronies as well as Harley Quinn and Catwoman look on. The police arrive and Batman places The Joker's corpse on a cop car, as Commissioner Gordon asks what happened, and Batman strolls off calmly into the night. It would've been ridiculous for the Joker/Batman saga to just continue and continue, so to kill The Joker off was a smart decision but one also handled with the relevant care. It also maintains Batman's strict code, as The Joker essentially dies by his own stupid hand. Thanks to last year's Arkham Origins being a prequel, we still got to have another game with The Joker up to his usual tricks...
