10 Sci-Fi Games To Play While Waiting For Mass Effect 4

Hotline Miami broke the mold with its top-down, hyper-violent launch back in 2012. That both games had cracking synthwave soundtracks also helped.

Ruiner takes that template, throws an Akira/Ghost in the Shell cyberpunk aesthetic over it and adds just as much challenge to the carnage

A slightly titled camera makes it more isometric than Miami, but the core concept is still the same. You have to juggle weapons, dodge and dive out out of the way, all the while racking up both score and body counts.

Again backed by an extensive techno/synthwave score, Ruiner ticks all the boxes who need their fill of anime-inspired cyberpunk mayhem.

A story that charts the rise of an unnamed protagonist from the seedy underworld through the rise through corrupt corporations, it tells a new story in a familiar setting.

For you lovers of spectacle and trial, there's a meaty enough challenge in Ruiner to keep you busy. Think Cuphead meets The Surge in terms of gameplay and aesthetic, and you have your level of challenge.

That arcade style of "One more go" is rife in Ruiner.

Go on, puppy. Try it.
