10 Sci-Fi Games To Play While Waiting For Mass Effect 4

6. EVE Online

From planet hopping to exploring the vastness of space, let's get serious.

EVE Online, along Elite Dangerous, is one of the deepest and engrossing of space faring games out there*. Yet whilst the latter focuses more on the trading and realism of space travel, the former focuses more on warfare and ship customisation.

It's been doing the rounds since 2003, with an ever-increasing and persistently growing player base that shows no signs of slowing down.

Whilst other games on this list see space travel as a secondary thing, EVE Online is all about that. From customising almost every aspect of your ship, to engaging in small skirmishes to all out space war, EVE Online is as best a space dogfight simulator as you're going to find.

Don't be overwhelmed about jumping in now, as there's plenty available to get stuck into without fear of losing it all or getting lost.

In its seventeen years, EVE has seen its ups and downs. But with a persistently passionate team maintaining it, what better time to jump into a massive, community driven and supported online space sim.

*Until Star Citizen eventually sees a proper release, that is.
