After thwarting the Joker’s plans in Arkham Asylum, the sequel, Arkham City, reveals that the villain is slowly dying from the effects of the Titan formula that they injected themselves with during their final confrontation.

However, after the villainous clown infects the hero with his contaminated blood, Batman finds himself in a race against time to manufacture a cure before they both befall the same fate.

Towards the end of the game, it’s unveiled that the Joker players have encountered up to this point was, in fact, Clayface disguised as the clown all along. Although this twist comes as a genuine surprise to most players, the clues were right there from the start for those who paid close enough attention.

Alongside a snippet of dialogue from Harley that can be overheard at the steel mill about Joker not being himself, the biggest hint comes when players use Batman’s detective vision to look at the imposter clown during their first encounter.

Unlike other enemies, this Joker is shown to not have a skeleton, meaning that players familiar with Batman villains would have seen this twist coming a mile away.

If Batman had taken a closer look, he could've solved this mystery himself.
