Say what you will about the storytelling and characters of 2019’s Borderlands 3, but it’s hard to deny that the core gameplay and signature visuals are the best they’ve ever been. Beyond that, central hub Pandora still houses its fair share of entertaining villains onto whom Vault Hunters can unleash all manners of mayhem.

The core gameplay loop and signature visuals are likely the best they’ve ever been, though, and central hub Pandora still houses its fair share of entertaining villains onto whom Vault Hunters can unleash all manners of mayhem.

Case in point: Crushjaw, a respawnable rival who serves as one of Zer0’s Target of Opportunity challenges and hides in the Cathedral of the Twin Gods.

To encounter them, venture into the Eridium Sluice shaft at the end of the map (which is easy to overlook), but don’t immediately teleport to the Great Vault (which is what many players do once they drop down there).

Instead, move toward the spinning fan in the opposite direction; then, go up the staircase on your right or left and walk through the doorway next to the big 13. Crushjaw will pop out from a manhole in the center of the new room.

Once beaten, Crushjaw could a handful of awesome armaments (such as the Jericho rocket launcher, the Bone Shredder pistol, and the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot shield). So, good luck kicking their butt!
