10 Secret Open-World Bosses Everyone Missed
5. The Agony (The Division 2)
Sometimes, a big baddie stays unknown for so long that developers feel obligated to push fans in the right direction.
One recent example is The Division 2’s The Agony, whose existence and whereabouts in the DC Outskirts: Expeditions DLC – released in July 2019 – weren’t revealed until early October of the same year (via Trick Dempsey during a livestream).
During the broadcast, Dempsey mentioned that when she checked to see if anyone had found the boss in Manning National Zoo, she was shocked to learn that they hadn’t. She then gave a cryptic tip for viewers to decode, clarifying that there is no interactive cue to trigger The Agony (whom she said is “a jerk”).
Before long, one reddit user solved the mystery.
Essentially, players need to shoot five beehive displays in the large area between the monorail and the crocodile pit (near the wolf, butterfly, and ocelot exhibits). Afterward, they merely need to trigger the panel in the butterfly exhibit to have The Agony appear from behind a set of grey doors.
Adorned in a hazmat suit, his attire surely makes him intimidating; however, his bark is worse than his bit, so he shouldn’t be too tricky to take down.
