The Supernatural expansion pack for the Sims 3 has introduced the ability to turn your Sims into several occult creatures, including ghosts, but what some Sim players may not know is that playing a ghost was an option way before the expansion.

In fact, this secret transformation is one of the few rare options for playing as your favorite Sim after they die.

To turn your living Sim into a ghost, you first need to ensure your Sim of choice has great relationship with another playable character. Afterward, do what Sim players do best and subject your desired protege to an untimely meeting with a burning oven or a walled-off pool.

If everything's done correctly, your Sim's distraught friend should get a call from a science lab a few days later, telling them about an experimental study that may bring the dearly departed back.

This will set you on a special quest, that upon completion, will reward you with resurrecting your dead Sim as a ghost.

Now your Sim can phase through walls, possess objects, and most importantly, become completely impervious to random death events that might take them away from you.
