The action-RPG hybrid, Beyond Oasis, nailed what some would argue the Final Fantasy games are still grappling with. The fighting in this game was supremely fun. This adventure didn't change the face of gaming but in an age where RPGs are all the rage, this game would be a good starting point for developers wondering how to come up with a solid concept.
The plot of this game is pretty simple, Prince Ali finds an armlet and then begins to systematically destroy an evil wizard who has a similar but opposing item. There are a fair few twists and turns but the primary goal of the game remains the same. While not as complex as some players would like - a new coat of paint could make this game special.
This game had destructible weapons and for players who want the thrilling elements of the early Resident Evil games alongside a lush world, this game would be a strong candidate for a remake.
The only question is whether this gaming niche actually exists.
