10 SEGA Games That Need A Remake
2. Phantasy Star 3
The last Phantasy Star game was released in 2014 and it seems that the series ran out of momentum. With that said Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom is somewhat of an overlooked classic. While at launch it was criticised for living in the shadow of its predecessor, this game actually pushed the SEGA Genesis to its very limits in an expansive medieval fantasy.
Like most RPGs the fighting was turn-based and players had a vast world to explore and battle, but this game actually spanned the lifetimes of three heroes. On top of that, it introduced marriage to the series as well as player choice.
Safe to say, this game had plenty of surprises for the RPG genre in 1990, and it actually lay the groundwork for industry trends.
While the gaming industry's emphasis on important choices has been toned down in recent years - this game mastered it. For that reason, a remake of this hard-fought adventure would be fantastic.
