10 Seriously Misjudged Video Game Levels That Almost Made You Stop Playing
8. South Park: The Fractured But Whole's Entire Opening Slog
For a sequel to a game that took South Park's most OTT aspects and made them playable, Fractured But Whole's entire first chunk of missions is a plodding, supremely flat, sterile slog.
Thankfully the game picks up big time once you've filled out your "Character Sheet", but such a thing relies on visiting a number of spots around the titular town with nothing in the way of forward momentum.
Cartman even has you going to grab him a taco at one point. Yippee.
Considering the game was marketed and sold off the back of replicating the factional warfare of Marvel's Civil War, the fact none of this happens for a good 2-4 hours of boring fetch quests and point to point mission design is deflating, to say the least.
