10 Silly Video Games With Incredibly Serious Moments

2. The Grandmapocalypse - Cookie Clicker

Of all the games to provide you with nightmare fuel, Cookie Clicker probably was last on the list. For all intents and purposes, it initially appears to be just yet another click-to-win game that's become strangely popular due to its simple but addicting nature.

Only, if you really commit to it, you'll find its far weirder than its fellow clicker brethren. Far, far weirder. And also far more interesting.

When you reach the point in the game where you can purchase the skill "One Mind", the game will send you a remarkably unnerving warning: "purchasing this will have unexpected, and potentially undesirable results! It's all downhill for here, you have been warned!".

If you look God and the developers in the eye and purchase it anyway, some really weird stuff starts to happen. Not only will gross, Silent Hill looking "Wrinklers" begin to try and eat away at your cookie profits, but the lovely grandmas whose kind faces you once smiled to see begin to change into something far more terrifying.

These "Grandmatriachs" try and end the world, complete with providing you grotesque imagery, unless you try and stop them. Even if you do, this will force you to see their true, hideous form, and good god is it memorable in all the worst ways.
