10 Simple Video Games That Are Too Brutal To Master

5. Monster Hunter

Unlike most JRPGs, Monster Hunter isn€™t just about acquiring the most effective gear possible, or making sure your stats are higher than your opponent€™s. In fact, a veteran could potentially defeat some of the toughest monsters with the absolute worst equipment, but even the most well-equipped rookie wouldn€™t stand much of a chance against some of the earliest bosses in the game.

Case and point: the MH3 Ultimate demo threw players into the game without any kind of explanation, and despite kitting them out with some impeccable gear, it was a notorious disaster here in the West. Why? No one knew how to play it effectively; they understood the basics, but the subtleties were lost.

With the right amount of dedication, Monster Hunter can be mastered, but it requires an inordinate amount of patience, commitment and time. You can€™t just grind your way through, you have to master a very particular playstyle and hope for the best.
