10 Simple Ways Rockstar Could Ruin GTA 6
1. An Overtly Sexualised Female Protagonist
Aside from a return to Vice City, the idea of a first-ever leading female protagonist is GTA 6's major talking point already. It's something fans are ready for, and they deserve to see a fully-realised, kick-ass woman who stands her ground and commands as much attention as the best male characters in series history.
The apprehension here is that Rockstar have never, not once managed to write a female character who isn't dependent on comedy or sex appeal. That's a huge challenge in GTA 6. An overtly sexualised doll with a Lara Croft-esque chest who is only there to please the boys wouldn't cut it these days.
It's time for something different. If the developers are at all interested in promoting a female protagonist, then it's a must that she's strong, not undermined by the men around her and well-voiced by a commanding presence.
A deep, likeable character like Carl Johnson from San Andreas would provide a solid template for Rockstar to build on. They needn't shy away from sex completely, because that's a big part of GTA's style, but any true female lead can't be there solely for titillation.
