Super Mario World introduced a villainous sorcerer called Magikoopa. This nefarious wizard can teleport, shoot energy blasts, and transform blocks into Koopa Troopas. Considering most Mario enemies at the time relied one or two gimmicks like shooting fireballs or hurling boomerangs, Magikoopa was the trickiest enemy in the game. Even though he can be defeated with a head stomp or a fireball, his teleportation skills make it difficult to strike him.

There are different types of Magikoopa but the most powerful one is Bowser's advisor, Kamek, who was introduced in the sequel. This bespectacled baddie has far more powers including increasing enemies' size, pyrokinesis, clairvoyance, telekinesis, hypnosis, and flight. He can conjure copies of himself and bring inanimate objects to life.

Despite being the approximate size of Yoshi, Kamek has superstrength, allowing him to lift weapons far larger than he is with little effort. His magic protects him from virtually any injury including being dropped into lava or being reduced to ash.

Not only is he strong physically and mentally but he has a lot of sway over Bowser since he has cared for the Koopa king since he was an infant.
